About Me
My name is Stacy Van Santen, I reside in North Palm Beach with my husband David and our 3 children, Kendall (10) Lindsay (6) and Chase (4). As a Florida native, being in and around water is a way of life for me. So when I became a mom in the fall of 2006 I knew aquatic survival was high on my list of priorities for my children. We welcomed our new baby boy, Chase into our lives on August 9, 2012. He is also now a strong confident swimmer with skills no parent should keep their child(ren) from having. Scholarships are available please inquire www.livelikejake.com.
I became a part of the ISR family in 2007, through lessons for my daughter. I was so thankful for the positive impact Kendall’s survival swimming skills had on our lives. We walked away with such a feeling of accomplishment and confidence. I felt compelled to become a part of the ISR family and help with their mission - to ensure that Not One More Child Drowns.
I trained in the spring of 2008, under Master Instructor Joan Arpe. During my 8 week intensive training to become an instructor I was educated in the fields of adolescent behaviors, functions of the body, physical health, and even child psychology. In the weeks that followed, I was in the water teaching my own students Self-Rescue skills.
My other passion is riding my Friesian, Zephyre
Prior to teaching aquatic survival lessons, I received my A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg Jr. College 92', and worked in the field for 10 years. I also have B.S. degree in Interior Design from Lynn University 02', and have been working free lance over the past 10 years, which I still love and use as my creative outlet. I am an avid fisherman and boater and in 200I I obtained my OUPV Captain’s License. I grew up water skiing, love snow skiing, horseback riding, animals, my family, and most of all God, for with Him, all things are possible!
Today God has led me to The Live Like Jake Foundation. I am blessed to work with this family and support their cause. For more information please visit www.livelikejake.com
